I’m currently a senior at Wentworth Institute of Technology studying business management. As a business management major at Wentworth, I have become proficient in business analytics, work well in teams and am a motivated leader. Upon completion of various exercises and projects in my business courses, I have found that my thought process and skills associate well with real world business applications. With the coursework and experiences at Wentworth combined with the online finance courses I have completed, my broad skill set has me well prepared for a career in finance, banking or investments.
Wentworth Experience
Wentworth was first introduced to me by a basketball recruitment letter. Soon after I decided to come to the campus for a tour by Coach Devitt. After learning about the school and specifically the co-op program I chose to complete my undergraduate studies at WIT. Unfortunately due to injury my basketball career at Wentworth was cut short after the my sophomore year. Basketball at WIT did much more than just provide a sport for me to compete in. From day one it was engraved into our minds that the only way to be successful not just in basketball but in life is to communicate well, work hard and be a great teammate. These are qualities I take to heart and try to replicate them every day.
My junior year I was asked to become a tutor in Wentworth's Learning Center. In order to be a tutor you must have a strong GPA, good recommendations and a minimum A- in any course you tutor. Tutoring gave me a great opportunity to help others, stay in touch with previous coursework and improve my interpersonal skills. I helped students with a wide range of disciplines including accounting, finance, economics, statistics and management courses. More recently I joined Wentworth Association of Managers (WAM, http://www.wit.edu/business-management/students/wam.html) I'm excited to see the opportunities this Association brings foreward.
